Dedicated server refers to a powerful computer that is used solely as a network server or a single computer in a network reserved for network needs. It is an exclusive type of server that provides services for only one account or domain name. This server includes an operating system, related software and a web server. The server can be assigned to function only as a resource server and cannot be used as a client. It could also be a computer that manages printer resources and gives reliability and flexibility.

There are two types of dedicated server, and these are managed dedicated server and unmanaged dedicated servers. It’s is important that you know the difference between the both servers. Unmanaged dedicated servers are best for clients that want to be in charge of all their own maintenance. Managed server is responsible for all the maintainers and backup that needs to be carried out. Managed server has a feature that is adaptable to the individual’s requirement. There is increased security and greater server access. Both unmanaged and managed server has operating system, web server and hardware. Unmanaged server gives also the flexibility for customization and comes with free reboots complete with root access.
